Because some ‘truths’ in this world aren’t really true—they’re just there to keep the status quo.

TEDxUCIrvine is thrilled to announce our official spring conference, DEBUNKED, taking place on Thursday, May 18, 2023. First brainstormed as the “Myth of Natural Talent” and inspired into broader terms, DEBUNKED aims to dismantle ideals, concepts, and stereotypes the system has advertised as ‘truth’. We’re busting everything and anything that you feel should have its expectations redefined. Be prepared to mentally challenge your perspective.

Held at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, the event is set to last from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Ticket sales begin on April 20th, starting as low as $15 until May 4th. Afterwards, price will increase to $20 per ticket. Admission is free for students who present a valid ID card.

TEDxUCIrvine is an independently organized experience curated by passionate UC Irvine students. Founded on the belief in the impact of shared knowledge, we strive to uplift those “ideas worth spreading” into powerful catalysts for change. With the curiosity, passion, and wonder of our community, our aim is to spark dialogue that’ll have listeners thinking on their feet, providing the stage for local voices to be heard.
